Your Checklist for What to Take to Hospital for Birthing

When it comes to birthing, it is quite important for you to ensure you do take the necessary things to the hospital for a smooth and easier birthing experience for yourself, your partner and your little one to come. Below is a great snapshot from Pregnancy, Birth & Baby of what to bring:

In addition to the above, Healthy Mum & Bub and our guest contributor Mum Jannet Tang would like to share some more tips as per following:

* Ensure you bring a soft tip toothbrush as your gums and teeth will be quite fragile during this period. Soft tio toothbrush can help to prevent bleeding at this time;

* Do bring lots of disposable underwears and maternity pads;

* A small towel for ease of wiping your face and ensure warm water is used at all times when wiping;

* Bring straws for drinking easily and insulated water bottle that can keep your water warm;

* Don’t forget to take some choclates, biscuits and fruit juices to eat and drink to give you energy;

* Bring your favourite music CD and music player, or simply play your favourites with your smartphone;

* A diffuser with lavender essential oil will help to sooth and calm yourself down before and during contractions;

* For your baby, bring one singlet, one onesie and one beanie. A pair of baby gloves to prevent your baby scratching him/herself. Also bring one Muslim wrap;

* No need to bring baby bodywash and shampoo as his/her skin is very tender and sensitive when just born;

* Bring extra bags to put in your cloths , sleep/maternity wears that requires to be washed later;

* Bring a belly band, alternatively you may ask the hospital physician for one;

* You can bring a pair of compression socks though these might be provided by your hospital.

Hope the above checklist and tips on what to bring helps and wishing all the mums all the very best for your labour and when giving birth.
